Mission

Institutional Space Planning and Management (ISPM) is responsible for Capital and Space Planning and Space Administration for the university, aligning space and physical resources with strategic vision to support MSU’s core mission of teaching/learning, research, and outreach.  ISPM plans new facilities to meet programmatic needs and priorities of the campus including space and facility projections to support university growth areas and initiatives, and development of strategies to improve utilization of existing space.  The unit also administers university facilities funds and develops budget and funding strategies for capital projects.

ISPM provides leadership and guidance to Major Administrative Units to assist with the use and implementation of the space policy and utilization of space and facilities.  In addition, ISPM manages the MSU Space Inventory, instructional space planning and improvements, barrier-free planning, and space metrics and reporting.
